The name of the vineyard site Röttgen comes from clearing and implies a special effort in creating the first vineyard. The original blue-gray slate rock develops after a few years a rust-brown colour. The colours are created by oxidation of the iron and the mineral content of the slate. It can conclude that the rock was built in the primordial sea under anaerobic conditions and that the sediments over millions of years were "baked" into the Röttgen-Slate. The wines are characterized by subtle fruit flavors, playful mineral traces and remind you of the aroma of white peaches. Their elegance and delicate acid structure is unique.
